P&C

Current P&C Executive members

The Parents & Citizens Association (P&C) is a group of parents and other carers who volunteer to support the school community. We play a crucial role in advocating for families including both students and parents. As the group is a volunteer endeavour, our exact function may differ from year to year depending on the parents who are able to volunteer. If you want to be part of the parent voice at Gold Creek School, you are invited to join us at our meetings and share your thoughts.

Meetings

Our meetings are held at 6pm-7:30pm on Wednesdays, twice a term. Every week 4 we hold our meeting in the junior site staff room, and every week 8 we hold our meeting in the senior site staff room. Everyone is invited to both meetings each term.

The agenda typically follows this structure:

Fundraising

We run several events throughout the year, and some of these have entry fees designed to cover costs, such as our primary site discos. Our annual colour run event is our main fundraiser designed to fill the coffers. Most transactions are completed through flexischools, though some may use a different platform, such as the colour run.

Any funds raised more than our costs are spent on the students and school, for example bringing in authors for book week, hosting Mother’s and Father’s Day breakfasts, re-painting the handball courts, hosting a World Teacher’s Day morning tea, or other things we decide on throughout the year. If you have any ideas, please feel welcome to bring them along to a meeting and have your say.

Hoodies

At the request of high-school students some years ago, we have negotiated with the school to add Hoodies to the senior site uniform. We maintain a small amount of stock you can purchase and collect instantly from the front office, and we periodically open large orders with a 3–4-week lead-in time.

In-stock hoodies are purchased through our Square store, and large orders are managed through flexischools.
