Student Development and Welfare
Our school welfare policy is based on restorative practices and this influences the way in which we manage conflict with a focus on positive outcomes for all involved and restoring relationships. In addition we have a number of policies and processes that are used to support all members of the community.
These encompass a wide number of procedures that include:
Classroom Management Guidelines
School wide rules – rights, responsibilities, roles
Anti Bullying (including cyber-bullying), Anti-Racism and Sexual Harassment policy
Restorative Practices and SEL (Social and Emotional Learning)
In resolving conflict we use Restorative Practices and peer mediation as the foundations for maintaining a safe school.
Through the Student Management Policy at Gold Creek we aim to:
- Develop behaviours that support learning in a positive, safe and respectful environment for all
- Encourage students to self disciplined and to take responsibility for their own behaviours.
- Work collaboratively with all members of the Gold Creek Community in supporting our students to develop positive learning and social behaviours.
- Ensure students, staff and parents have a clear understanding of their rights and responsibilities as set out in this policy.
- Foster and strengthen communication across the community.
Our aims are based on our values and when working with this policy the values and mission statement of the school underpin our daily practices.
